Peak Design Anchor Mount for Camera Straps (PL-AN-1)

This is a very neat design. It is small and light and perfect for a string end wrist grip if, like me, you dislike a strap mounted on the normal camera slot mount.

Bought to attach to a zoom lens' tripod foot so that I can attach my neck strap to the lens when carrying the zoom rather than put stress on the camera lens mount. Works perfectly for this, and the eyelets have no sharp corners or edges to cut through the strap. I bought a separate 4mm hex key to keep in my camera bag for taking the plate of when using a tripod mount as the description didn't mention that it came with one - it does, so I have a spare 4mm hex key. The only criticism I have is that the rubber shim on the base is a little thin and could do with being a bit thicker.

What's to say, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Being peak design it's relatively expensive but good.

I use this on the bottom of a gripped 5D mk3. I paired this with an Optech dual camera harness with quick release uniloop connectors. It's a great combo as it is secured in two places. I've used Optech for 20 years and used the harness for 8. I also use Think tank skin bags on a belt, you can park a camera in a skin pouch when it's on the harness to stop it swinging around. This plate stops the straps getting in your eyepiece when you shoot portrait, but you loose the option of using a bracket or QR plate.

I got this to open up the hanging options on my camera. Does exactly that, great bit of kit.

Does exactly what you want it to do, strap anchor point on tripod attachment screw. Allows for a secure attachment of strap.

It's well made and is a vital item for anyone who uses the peak design clip system and who shoots fuji. As though the other square mount that ships with their straps will catch the battery door on many fuji cameras. The machining is excellent and the finish is good.Lets face it though we're paying £9.99 for a non technical and simple part that's really hard to live without. £9.99 for a thing that is less than the size of a bloody ten pence piece that costs them pennies! All this because peak design messed up their other products compatibility! It's not even Arca Swiss compatible! A really low effort design. Sure it's functional but by God It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.
