The textured surfaces are small and not all that different. I purchased this for a blind child and I dont think it's worth it.

I bought this for my granddaughter. She is 5 months old and loves this book. I hold her in my lap and we read this book together. Ok, I'm exaggerating, but she loves the pictures and turns the pages for me. I was letting her feel the different objects on the pages, but now she does it on her own. The pages are nice and thick so when she decides to put them in her mouth, they are still look as new as the day the book arrived. I bought this book a couple of months ago and she still loves for me to read it to her. I will have to say, it is her favorite of all the books she has. The bright colored pictures and objects to feel, hold her attention. It is a wonderful book.

A friend of ours had this on her baby registry; on a whim I picked up a second copy for our baby. What a stroke of luck! Our daughter loves this book. We keep it in the car, where she has "read" it to us on nearly every car ride since she was 8 months old. Although it's showing some signs of wear, it's been sturdy enough to handle the rough attentions of a very active baby for more than 10 months now. She loves to turn the pages, she loves the pettable interactive characters and activities, she loves the bright colors... and hopefully someday she'll love the words, too, but for now, we love listening to her babble happily with her book. I normally do not purchase full price children's books for my eleven month old, however I decided to buy this book on the basis that it is a Doctor Seuss book, and we definitely needed some additional books to read. This book is well constructed, and is fun to read. There is one page that sort of irritates me when I read it, simply because it doesn't rhyme well. That said, my son really enjoys the pet and play aspect of this book, and seems to enjoy sitting down and reading it. I would totally recommend this for any parent who, like myself, gets a little nostalgic reading Dr Seuss, but whose child is not old enough to sit through an entire reading of the regular full length books.

This was my older kids favorite book when then were little, so I had to buy it for the younger ones. It’s a hit again!

Although this board book is very clever and well done, it has parts to it that a child under 3 years old will not be able to handle with the care it needs. There are great textures for touching and an adaptation of a Dr Seuss story, which are always fun. I would definitely recommend it, just not too early.

Quality expected for a Dr. Seuss board book. The granddaughter isn't quite as fascinated with this one as she is with the 'Green Eggs and Ham' book - that one captured her attention a little more. She's only 10 months old, so I anticipate quite a bit of use in the future!

I love Dr. Seuss books but sometimes the little ones can't sit through all the words. This book is great and inventive. On each page is something to touch as you read. And each thing to touch is more creative than other touch books. It's not just your basic fur and bumpy stuff every page. And of course there's the clever Dr. Seuss words. Love this book and so does my 1 year old!

One of the best books for a toddler. It ended up being a favorite in our collection.

Adorable, as all Dr. Seuss's books are. Touch and feel pages aren't in your face but add a nice element to the book.

This is a very popular book at my house. I gave it four stars because the binding is flimsy. I've had to tape it.
