High Quality
I ordered the pie weights to replace the rice I had been previously using. The pie weights came with a perfect container for storing. I use them regularly when making my pie crusts. In comparing using rice for pie weights vs the actual pie weights..... the pie weights are a lot better! The pie weights do not absorb any of the fat/shortening from the pie crust, despite using parchment paper underneath (like the rice did). The weights are easy to clean, dry quickly, and store easily in the container. The weights are perfect in helping the crust keep its shape and preventing air pockets from forming. I prefer the ceramic weights, knowing that I am not going to get any residue that I might get from using the rice. My family is a pie-eating family.....I highly recommend these pie weights!

Works great, just some minor washing and storing problems
These pie weights certainly do the job when it comes to preventing pie crusts from puffing up while baking). I do wish that it came with more weights though as this number of pie weights will not fill a standard pie dish all/almost all the way to the top, which would be preferable considering the upper sides of the crust can sometimes puff up.One thing I had a problem with was the size of the individual pie weights, and the container it comes with. Just as a warning, be careful whenever opening the container - as soon as I opened mine, the pie weights, which surpassed the brim of the container, started spilling out.Because the pie weights come coated in powder, they must be washed - that's another aspect to be careful about. I'd recommend rinsing the weights in a colander over the sink with a covered drain as the weights can easily slip out and get lost. To dry them, I pour the weights on a cooling racked that's lined with a rimmed baking sheet and leave them to dry for several hours (or even a day). And then of course, be careful when putting the weights back in the container, making sure to not let any weights be dropped (which I've done, but they didn't break luckily) or just store them in a bigger container altogether to avoid that.Overall, they do their job very well, just mainly wish that the weights and the storage container were bigger.

Excellent Product
These are great pie weights. I’ve used them several times since purchasing to make various pies. The beads all seem to be about the same size. They do an excellent job of preventing my pie dough from falling over when pre baking pie crust.

Functional product, packaged nicely
If you bake pies, you know pie weights are a necessity sometimes. These pie weights are reusable and better than using beans as weights, especially if you bake pies regularly. These are well made, easy to clean, they seem sturdy; and they come in a little plastic "tin box" that is attractive and functional as a storage container which is easy to stack and identify in the cabinet - the plastic storage box is a great selling point in itself! And yes, it is perfectly giftable.

Use over and over in lieu of dried beans
Blind baking a pie shell is the way to go when making custard, pumpkin or any "no bake" pies. Roll out your dough, place in pie plate, crimp the edge, line with parchment paper, then foil and then the pie weights. Freeze the whole assembly overnight or a least thirty minutes. Pop the assembly into a 425°F oven for fifteen minutes.Remove the pie weights and parchment paper, add an egg wash to the bottom, sides and edge, dock the bottom with a fork and make a tent to protect the edge before going back into the oven. This time for another ten to fifteen minutes at 425°F. Peek at it after five or ten minutes to see how it looks. The tenting should have protected the edge and the bottom of the crust should become golden.Another tip with baking a pumpkin pie is to slowly warm the filling to about 100°F before adding to the pie shell and baking.
