I honestly don't remember if I even read the product details or customer reviews before purchasing this stapler, or if I read the details on the box it came in! So I was super surprised to find the secret staple compartment on the bottom of the unit. Love it! It actually came with 2 strips of very nice staples inside the secret compartment.Otherwise, it is a pretty basic stapler. I bought it for the chrome outer casing. It smudges with fingerprints, but wipes off easily (I expected as much). It is much lighter weight than the older models you usually find in offices, but doesn't seem any less sturdy. Works just fine. Looks good on my desk. Box was new and undamaged, no shipping issues.

UPDATE: After one year of light use, this stapler started jamming all the time. Tried to fix it several times. Finally threw it away.Original review: Like so many others, I had to set up a quick home office and purchased this stapler for that purpose. It is comfortable, works as it should, and is kind of cute. The built in staple remover and staple storage in the base are pluses. It does not feel like a super sturdy stapler, so I don't know that it would hold up to heavy office use, but for my purposes, it fits the bill!

**** updating this review. This stapler is horrible. As a teacher, I was excited to get a pretty stapler for my new classroom. I bought this during Amazon Prime days to save money. Today, on the FIRST day of school, I went to use this and was so disappointed that IT DOES NOT STAPLE! It isn't jamming...it literally will not close the metal tabs on the staple after it inserts the staple into the paper....and my return window ended last week. How disappointing and ridiculous...a trustworthy brand name stapler that does not staple papers.I am very disappointed with the color of this stapler. I treated myself to a new set of desk/teacher necessities for my new position. I decided to pick lavender/purple. While this stapler is certainly a striking color, it is NOTHING like the color depicted in the example. I'm unsure if I'm keeping it or not.I do hope that the stapler works well and that it is a functional item

Looks great but you have to press hard to staple. I wouldn't use it as a daily stapler

I preferred the white one. I love the storage underneath for staples. Easy to use.

The stapler I received worked a couple of times when I first received it and then I set it down on my file cabinet. I seldom staple things so a month or so later when I picked it back up to use it it kept jamming. It wouldn't work when held in my hand. I had to repeatedly bang on it to get any Staples to come out and half of the Staples were broken in the process. I contacted Bostitch Customer Service and they were so kind and they are sending me a new stapler. First class customer service!

Looks slick and works smooth, but doesn't come with the 420 staples that they say are included...

There's nothing to dislike about this little gem. The colour is gorgeous. It fits in my small hands perfectly. Great value.

Like the stapler but was surprised that there are no staples in it, didn't expect a box of staples to come with it but felt there would be some in, so now had to order staples on top.
