I purchased this CeraVe Healing Ointment for my 1.5-year-old son, who has eczema-prone skin, and it has worked really well for us as a daily moisturizer and skin protectant. The texture is thick and occlusive, which helps lock in moisture, especially after bath time. I apply a thin layer to areas that tend to get dry or irritated, and it helps keep his skin soft and comfortable without causing any stinging or redness. What I really appreciate is that it’s fragrance-free and gentle, which is important for sensitive toddler skin. CeraVe Healing Ointment is amazing for my lips. I’ve tried tons of lip balms — Vaseline, Burt’s Bees, even Aquaphor — but this one just works better. It keeps my lips soft, hydrated, and protected for hours without feeling greasy. I also use it on dry spots anywhere — cuticles, hands, and patches of skin in winter. It locks in moisture and heals fast. If you want a comparison, I’d say CeraVe vs. Aquaphor is like Pepsi vs. Coke or Amazon vs. Walmart — both are good, but for me, CeraVe wins most time. It spreads smoothly, feels light, and lasts all day. Seriously, toss the other lip balms and grab this — you won’t regret it.

Great for the winter times. Really helps lock in the moisture on the skin and is highly suited for cracked/dry skin. The consistency is how you would describe petroleum jelly feel which is great because a small amount goes a long ways. I use it on my feet, after I shower, and especially on my hands and elbows to help lock in moisture. It’s not heavy if you use an appropriate amount. There is no scent to it and it’s easy to apply. Like i said, it’s got a petroleum jelly feel which i like because it lasts longer than moisturizer/lotion. Overall great product for those trying to keep the skin moisturized and protected from the elements such as the cold.. (we all know the cold can really cause dry/cracked hands. I even use it as chapstick. Love it.

So the reason for the four stars and not five is the following. The description for this product states this does not leave a greasy feel or film. I have to disagree as it does leave a bit of a greasy film and feel. A little goes a very long way so start small and add more if you require it. This is what I do as I use this only for my hands due to sever dry hands from constant washing using a medicated hand wash for my skin condition that is only on my hands. This product works extremely good and is a life saver for my dry hand condition giving me hands that are soft again and do not feel like dry leather. I just started using this product on the date of this review as this is when I received it. I like it so much that I purchased the larger 12oz container for home and a 9oz container for taking with me when I'm out of the house to keep my hands feeling and looking their best. I do highly recommend this healing ointment as it does what is says with the exception of the greasy feel and film that it does leave on your skin. It is not a heavy amount but that will also depend on how much you use. I use a very light amount just enough to provide what I need for protect and hydrate my skin.

This ointment is very thick and moisturizing. We read that this brand is one that does not disrupt the skin microbiome (for eczema). We threw away the Aveeno and started using this and it's been great. It is very greasy, so you'll want to make sure you protect sheets and nice clothing or give it time to soak into the skin first.

I developed this unusual rash on my chest a few years back, I’m not sure when or how I got it. I was prescribed a cream, but it wasn’t working, and I was tired of using it. I recently started using this product whenever I thought about applying it, and it’s definitely helped eliminate it and the weird bumps it left behind. It’s definitely not greasy, but it’s quite thick. I’ve also used it on random scar spots and stretch marks, and it’s helped lighten those as well.

I had a sample size of CeraVe Healing Ointment for a year now. Have tried to find a small size to carry with me. Amazon came to the rescue! 3 oz and I can carry it easily in my purse. Comes in a squeezable tube. The product works fantastically on my hands and feet. I was getting those weird little cuts and snags by my finger tips. Two nights of using the ointment, and the problems are soft and healing - no more snagging or cringing when washing my hands. Feet, let’s just say they are finally soft again. There are several size options, as mentioned I went with the 3 oz. There is not scent to the ointment at all. Goes on smoothly, isn’t greasy, and absorbs well.

I read a lot about this salve online before I purchase it and I was a bit skeptical because everyone seemed to rave about it but I have to agree with the consensus, it is great. You can basically put it on anything minor skin related and it soothes and heals. I have tried other balms but I like this one better because it seems very gentle but also powerful. Highly recommend!

This ointment is really a miracle for itchy skin! I been using benzoyl peroxide cleanser and I follow up with my A ret cream after skin care which caused my skin to be extremely dry and itchy at night time, it’s really working amazingly without clogging my pores or breaking out my skin!
