How would bowls in the ditch be measured?

These bowls measures are excellent but are specifically for crown green bowls were bowls in the ditch are classified as dead.

All well and good for indoor surfaces but how good is on grass? And is it recognised by bowls governing body and umpires association?

I think the seller answers the question about the legality of the measure,only tried it on short mat but cannot se any difficulty on grass,they are a bit fiddily to use but they do seem to be far more trustworthy than the ordinary ones, I am sure you have had trouble with people not putting the pointer in the middle of the wood or Jack,not tried it on grass as our green doesn`t open for a couple of weeks.hope this helps,John.

My Dad would like a new measure for Christmas but he wants one that can measure multiple bowls at a time. would this do that or is it just one line?

This is a single string line, with the added bonus that both parts are flat on the green, carpet or grass, I have not come across a multiple string line, but the rules state you measure one bowl at a time so there is no need for a multiple string line in my opinion .
