InvictaMen's Pro Diver Collection Coin-Edge Automatic Watch

Bought as a joke, but actually impressed.
When I saw this watch on the Black Friday doorbuster, it was just so cheap that I had to have one.In the watch world, Invicta is the butt of almost every joke because many of their models just completely fall apart on their own in a month or two and then the buyer ends up losing everything after finding out that the warranty only covers about half the watch, it costs money just to have them look at it and then claim it's not covered, etc.But the one watch that seems to get respect is the Pro Diver series with the Seiko NH35A movement.I bought this watch around the same time I also bought the Casio Pro Trek 6600-Y2 and while I think the Casio is nicer, the Invicta pro diver is a fine watch too, especially for the Black Friday price. It's got all of the basics covered. It's water-resistant (as long as you screw the crown down tightly), it's got the looks of the Rolex Submariner, which it's obviously a copy of, and (at least the one I got) keeps pretty good time. Loses a couple of seconds per day, which isn't bad for a low end automatic mechanical. This uses a very similar movement to the Seiko 5 series, which is fair bit more expensive.Invicta has a reputation for making some really gaudy, garish, and obnoxious watch designs, but this one isn't wild. It's a copy of a classic. Probably the only thing they did with it that I don't like is the laser-etched "INVICTA" on the left size of the watch, since Invicta isn't generally a watch name you want to scream. But still, if you want a cheap, decent, watch to run until the hands fall off, this is your watch. The manual for this specific watch doesn't seem to be included in the box as some sort of cost-cutting measure by Invicta, and must be read online.Probably the most important thing I read in it was when I couldn't figure out how to get the date window to work and it turned out you're not supposed to set the date between 9 PM and 4 AM or the thing will not work right. So I waited until after 4 AM and set the date to the previous day, then pulled the crown out all the way and changed the time forward until the date rolled over, and then set the time and pushed the crown back in, and it's been working right ever since. The automatic winding rotor is a bit loud, but it's not aggravatingly so.The 41 hour power reserve is quite sufficient as long as you wear it regularly or keep it winded up after you take it off (which is position 0 of three on the crown, from which you can manually wind the watch).Invicta suggests having the movement serviced every so often, but honestly the watch is so cheap that if anyone wants to charge you anything to fix it, you may as well toss it and buy a new watch. That's not so bad really. Many people have these things run for years without many problems, whereas I've heard of people complaining that if they don't get a $700 "servicing" for their Rolex every 4 years, it starts losing 15 minutes a day.Overall: If you need a beater watch that looks decent and don't want to be plagued by battery swaps, and don't mind resetting it to the correct time every few weeks, this is a good choice.

Superb Value for the Money if You Know What You’re Buying
This is a nice watch; it is not *luxury* by any means, but at the same time this is a great looking watch that you can wear out and about dressed up without worrying about something happening to it. It’s a very reasonable price for an automatic movement and the +/- 15 or so seconds per day isn’t too bad. It’s not a scratch magnet, but it is also not designed to be scratch proof; the plating on the band is not super durable, but again it’s a sub $75.00 watch depending on when you get it and what deals are out there. I also like heavier watches, which is another plus for me, personally. Additionally, I like the fold-over clasp mechanism. While I own many, many dive watches, I find myself going to this watch and my Invicta as my daily drivers. They don’t look cheap or tacky, yet I don’t have to worry about the watch getting damaged over the course of my work or daily living. Highly recommend as long as you are aware of what you’re getting for the price point.

Excellent classy automatic watch for $1000's less
2 months ago I purchased the Invicta gold 8930 and really liked it. I got hooked on Invictas. Then a man I do business with showed me his Rolex Submariner, proud of it, for only $5000. Well, I love the look but not the price. I looked at the Invictas on Amazon and found almost an exact duplicate, the 8926-C (coin bezel) for under $90. I have been wearing it constantly for a month now and really like it. It runs about 4 min. fast a month but that's not a big deal to adjust it. I understand that will settle down to a smaller amount over time. The watch looks great, and almost exactly like the R@lex Submariner, and occasionally someone with a Real Rolex will compliment me and ask what year my Rolex is. The construction, materials and workmanship seem excellent, but then it's only been a month. I will update if any problems. Oh yes, buy the $39 watch winder listed on Amazon to keep your watch wound when not wearing it for a day or longer.Update April 19, 2009 I have now had this watch about 7 months and wear it almost daily. I continue to be very pleased with it. The longer I wear it, the more accurate it gets. It perhaps gains 2 minutes a month, not a problem. I would buy it again.Update December 16, 2011 I have now had this watch for 25 months and love it. I wear it 6 days a week and it runs and looks great. There are some small scuff marks on the clasp from my wrist hitting my desk much of the day, but that can be buffed out. It is nice to have to worry about batteries. I also have the Invicta Gold 8930 and it still works well also. Very pleased.Update November 2013 I have now owned this Invicta watch for Four years and wear it at least 6 days a week. It operates very well, gaining perhaps 2-3 minutes a month, no big deal and actually helps me be on time for meetings. It is nice not having to replace batteries. I may need to polish the band a bit, especially the clasp, but the crystal looks fine. The $39 Winder I purchased only lasted about a year and died. My Gold Invicta 8930 still works well also and looks very nice.Update November 25, 2014, I have now owned this watch 5 years and love it. I wear it 6 days a week. It runs very well and still looks great. The bracelet clasp could use some buffing but otherwise it is excellent and I receive many compliments, including from Rolex owners when they ask "hey, what year is your Rolex?" Sometimes I tell them, sometimes I just say, "Oh, it's just a few years old". Great watch. If in doubt, buy it. It is wonderful to not have to buy batteries. I'm a fan!Update July 2018 I just noticed on Amazon that I purchased my Invicta Pro Diver Stainless Steel watch in Nov. 2009, so that's almost 9 years ago. I still wear my watch virtually every day and it has worked perfectly. Four years ago I wore a Garmin Fitbit for 15 months and then went back to my Invicta, reset the time/ date, gave it a few shakes and it's back and running fine. It gains about 1 minute per month, sometimes two. I just reset it when I have to reset the date after a 30 day month. I may need to take it in for a cleaning & polishing at some point, but it runs and looks great. About once a month someone will say "Hey, I like your watch", or "What year is your R@lex?". I also have a gold colored Invicta and it works well whenever I wear it. I'm a big Invicta Fan.
