Herschel Dawson Backpack, Black/Tan Synthetic Leather, Classic 20.5L

I absolutely love this backpack! I bought the XS in Chai/Tan. Although it's small (13L), it holds a lot. I recently took it as a day pack on a trip to Europe. (It doubled as my seat bag on the airplane.) The inside compartment easily held my full size digital camera, iPhone XS, collapsing umbrella, Nook, sunglasses and 9 oz. water bottle. There is also an inner zippered pocket for small items like a nail file, clippers, etc. The zippered outer pocket along the backside of the pack is great for holding maps or a thin notebook or other flat objects. The two outer front pockets hold small objects such as a 2 oz. bottle of hand sanitizer, pocket tissues, lip balm/lipstick, pill containers, pack of gum, etc. The fabric is sturdy and the pack easily slings over a shoulder or can be worn on your back. (After three weeks of daily use the pack shows no sign of wear.) The drawstring closure under the flap w/magnetic snap closure ensures security. And the magnetic snaps on the front pockets keep them securely closed as well. I love this pack so much I recently bought a second one. Why? As the color of my first pack is Chai/Tan, it's on the light side. I found that I wasn't taking it if I was going somewhere where I thought it would get dirty (camping, baseball games). So I bought a second one in a darker color that won't show the dirt. Bottom line: great little day pack that holds all of the stuff I need without getting too heavy. What's not to like?

I didn’t realize it when i purchased but all the buckles are actually magnetic closures, but I’m not complaining because to me this is a feature I enjoy.This is my second Herschel backpack, I use it daily going to and from work. My previous one lasted several years until the zipper broke, so I decided to replace it with one that had no zipper.This bag is a very attractive, beautiful color. The fabric feels durable. I don’t carry a laptop, but the laptop pocket is against the back of the bag and is padded against the wearer’s back. Front pockets are of an adequate and functional size. The straps are not real leather but look nice. Chrome buckles and magnets.

This is an awesome backpack. A little bit more expensive than I'm used to for a backpack this size, but it's totally worth it. I've put it through so much within the short amount of time that I've had it.It looks small, but trust me, it holds a lot and is quite a convenient size when traveling. The backpack is made of really great quality material and it has a really convenient pocket in the side that I've used to store items like postcards and other documents that I don't want to get too bent up since there is a nice, thick layer of padding on the back.I've only had it for a month, but honestly, I can see this backpack holding up for a very long time. I'm even considering using this when going to classes once school starts again since I realized that my laptops DOES manage to fit inside!Highly recommended!!9/9/2016 Update~After much trial and error, I have come to the conclusion that this backpack will not work for school for me personally. I simply cannot comfortably fit my 13 inch laptop, agenda, 2 small Five-Star notebooks and a tiny pencil pouch in the bag. The opening of the backpack barely covers the top of the computer so it won't close at all. The only thing that keeps my laptop from falling out is the flap and magnetic clasp,With that being said, it's still a great travel backpack (I recently took it kayaking too, and while things got a little wet, nothing was drenched at all), but unless you have a smaller laptop, I wouldn't suggest it for school.

Love the design. Combination of modern & classic look. The bag is light weight makes it suitable for school & work. Combination of colour is pretty match. Overall the bag looks stylish. Also suitable for travelling for those who keep minimal items inside backpack. Cannot wait to add other Herschel backpack into my collection.

This backpack has a pleasant retro vibe and it is functional too. It fits a 13-inch laptop, has some easily-accessible exterior pockets, and the straps keep it taut. Also, the straps feel like really good quality though I have not had it long enough to know for sure. Finally, kudos for using vegan straps rather than leather.

Loved the bankpack. Bought it for my daughter for school. Looks like not enough room but there is. She’s able to fit 2 folders a binder 4 notebooks and she plays the flute she can’t but her whole case in. She also able to put an iPad in with a bunch of other stuff. It’s great for many uses and very stylish.

So look, this brand isn't the cheapest out there (especially on Amazon) BUT they are so worth it!The fabric is sturdy and feels high quality. Stitching is impeccable, great size and feel.I use this bag specifically as my daily on the go bag and it's great. The straps are comfortable and the large compartment cinch closes under the buckle making me feel like my stuff is secure.You can't go wrong with this brand on any of their products.

.i love everything about this backpack. just wished it was a bit bigger.. it holds my 9.7inch ipad, an notebook/journal with the pencil case and toiletry bag snugly. a side pocket for my water botttle would have been nice as well.. but its a great buy. durable and cute.
